3 Different Styles of Shinobue Sheet Music
There are many ways to express shinobue music in sheet music, but I would like to share three examples today.
It shows the titles of the pieces and finger numbers. The length between the finger numbers indicates rhythm.
The shinobue's holes show notes, and the length between each set of holes indicates rhythm.
Japanese and Western notation hybrid. It clearly shows the rhythm and fingering.
My preferred style is the third one since the first and second ones do not clearly show the rhythm. However, the first and second ones give the performer more rhythmic and tempo freedom.
