Characteristics
The overall tonal quality can be described as "deep yet resonant."
These Do Re Mi style shinobues are tuned to Western scales with superb accuracy in pitch (A4 = 442 Hz).
They have been crafted by Mr. Tanaka, a certified craftsman from Ota Ward in Tokyo.
The bright tone of Wako shinobue may help you project sound more effectively.
Choose from 9 available colors at no additional cost (when custom ordered)
To ensure durability, it is covered in a thick layer of urushi lacquer, which protects against cracking in dry environments, such as those with central air conditioning and heating. This makes it particularly recommended for customers living outside Japan, where most houses are humid without central air.
Please note that the lacquer does contain urushi, which may cause a mild rash for some individuals initially. Although I am highly allergic to urushi, I did not experience any reaction to Wako shinobues.
